Val Stelmach | CEO

Val Stelmach began his journey in construction shortly after joining the engineering program at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He quickly realized his passion for the industry, but saw that it lacked one important aspect: quality work. Val decided to open his own residential custom home firm, and give his customers only the best, quality craftsmanship and design, that would stand the test of time. It is 2001, and Polo Builders, INC. has just been born. Besides a hammer, Val’s ability to understand customers and people in general, is one of his greatest tools. Thanks to Val being raised all over the world, from Europe to the USA, his understanding of different backgrounds leaves him well rounded in the knowledge of diversity. Rather than staying behind the scenes, Val values the ability to be able to go out on job sites, and interact with not only employees and sub-contractors, but his customers as well. Val believes that to be a good leader, you must have a deep understanding and knowledge of every trait that appears in construction; this is the key to being able to tell the difference between quality work, and a half-attempt at a job. When Val is not working on your beautiful custom home, you can catch him out on the boat fishing, and enjoying some time in the sun. Sometimes a little too much, so don’t be surprised if he comes to work the next week a little more red than usual! Val cherishes the small town feel of Tampa Bay, and loves the fact that he can stay so near to most of his family. Val has three beautiful daughters and one son-in-law, but the most important woman in his life is his elegant and stunning wife, Oksana. Working in the field has given Val priceless lessons and knowledge. One that he holds close to his heart, is that it is all about the relationships you build. Whether it is with your family or a customer, just like your new home, when you put in the right kind of effort, you will create something extraordinary and divine.

Vlad Malsky | Senior Project Manager

Vlad Malsky has been in the construction industry since 2008. Starting at the age of 16, Vlad began by mixing stucco base coats, but quickly progressed through positions due to his accountability and dedication to outputting quality work. Vlad decided early on that he wanted to be part of a growing company, where he could assist and support in that growth. Vlad joined Polo Builders after only 2 years of being in the industry, allowing not only his relationships within the company to strengthen, but his work values as well. Vlad has helped Polo Builders build a great team, and continues to keep team and company morale high through his team management ethics. Although Vlad is not out in the field as often as he once was, he has had his fair share of experience from the time he spent on it. Working out on the field has taught him many of the essentials of the construction business. Not only how the trade and project should be completed, but also what challenges might be presented during the job, and how to overcome them. Due to working on the field, Vlad’s perspective on time management has broadened greatly, and has tuned his viewpoints on completion times of tasks and jobs. Vlad’s favorite part about projects is seeing the build transform from dust in the ground, to a home for a family.

Oksana Stelmach | CFO

Oksana Stelmach has been in the construction industry since the year 2000, right alongside her husband, Val Stelmach. Oksana is known for her organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. She values the dynamic design of the construction industry, and has made it her mission to help clients make any project a reality. Oksana handles the administrative side of things, so her melodic voice is usually the first thing you will hear when giving Polo Builders a ring, before handing you off directly to our GC, or one of our project managers. Oksana appreciates order, rationality, and self-discipline; something that is necessary when you have to keep all these boys in line! When Oksana is not handling phone calls, paperwork, or scheduling, she enjoys spending time with her family on the beautiful beaches of Florida. She appreciates the kind-hearted nature of the folks here in the Tampa Bay area, and loves the nature that surrounds us every place you look. One of Oksana’s favorite inspirational quotes is actually a verse. Psalms 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Sometimes things happen where you have no control of the situation. Oksana says that this verse has helped keep her spirits high and positive through those difficult times. Besides inspirational and touching verses, Oksana looks up to a couple of especially important people in her life. Her mother, Irina, who was known for her hard work, selflessness, honesty, and unconditional love for her family and grandkids. And of course, Val, Oksana’s husband, who always works hard and helps others, and strives to be a better man in all that he does.

Noella Burgeson | Project Coordinator

Noella Burgeson has been in the construction industry for over 28 years, where she began her career in sales for a new townhome community. There, Noella quickly discovered her passion for working closely with clients and helping bring their visions to life. After six months in sales, Noella transitioned into an office manager role, where she worked alongside the superintendent, scheduling subcontractors and assisting clients with finish selections. These early experiences shaped Noella’s strong foundation in both project coordination and client communication, a skill set she has continued to build on throughout her career. Noella joined Polo Builders in 2022 and plays a key role as a Project Coordinator, helping ensure projects run smoothly from planning through execution. Noella works closely with project managers and subcontractors, coordinates materials and orders, gathers quotes, and helps resolve potential issues before they impact the schedule. A significant part of Noella’s role involves working directly with clients. Noella keeps homeowners informed throughout the permitting process, meets with them to review and finalize selections, and serves as a liaison between the client and the project manager. Known for her ability to truly listen, Noella takes pride in understanding her clients’ priorities and anticipating their needs, allowing her to offer thoughtful solutions along the way. Noella’s favorite part of the construction process is being part of a collaborative team that transforms a homeowner’s dream into a home they will cherish for years to come.

Olenka Stashchak | Marketing Manager

Olenka Stashchak has been in the construction industry for as long as she can remember; this is more than likely due to the fact that her parents are Val and Oksana Stelmach! Ever since she was a little girl, Olenka has been around and exposed to the general contracting world. As soon as she was old enough to work, she got involved with the family business, starting off with simple tasks like filing and organizing, and working her way up to becoming the company’s very own Marketing Manager. As the Marketing Manager of the business, Olenka posts and engages on all of Polo Builders’ social media platforms, as well as taking the photos and videos for said platforms. She also manages the website, and any ads that you may see out and about! Olenka’s vision for the Marketing division of the company is to be able to create a fun and engaging social media presence, for customers and contractors alike. Olenka values the process and innovation that comes with working in the construction field. She enjoys documenting homes being built from the ground up, and seeing the beauty and potential that every home has, come to life. Olenka knows how to take control of any situation, and will be as helpful as she can to both customers and employees. She believes that being able to connect and create a more personal relationship with people, is the best recipe for being a great leader. Although Olenka was born in the beautiful mountains of Chattanooga, Tennessee, she has lived in the Tampa Bay area for almost all her life. She is in the process of obtaining her BA degree in Business Administration and Management, from the University of Florida. Olenka loves the fact that she lives where people vacation, and says that she could not be more grateful for the beautiful oceans and cities that she gets to live by and explore, with her husband Oleg. Being out in the field with a camera has taught Olenka many things, such as being bold, and owning what she does. She enjoys allowing her creative side to flow when working on new project albums or YouTube videos. She cherishes the fact that building new homes has the structure yet freedom to create anything you can imagine. She says, “There is a certain beauty to being able to create whatever you can dream of, and then being able to turn that dream into a reality. Furthermore, you get to move INTO that reality!”
